~Holy Drakkan~
Those of Draconic blood follow the guidance of the tales and wisdom of their ancestors.
-Section 1: Chronicle-
The Chronicle is similar to the Holy Bible. It contains stories of old lost prophet’s, parables, and future
predictions of warriors and reincarnates. The original Chronicle has never been seen by mortal eyes, but its verses have been craved into many obelisks within The Nest.
-Section 2: Pillars of Existence-
Out of the twelve pillars present, four are the most ancient and hold the most significance. As explained in the Chronicle they are grave sites for the most loyal prophet’s. Each pillar has a tenant of the faith written on it. A breach in one of these four pillars is considered a most heinous offense.
Obligation: Whether you have been called to arms to defend your home or tasked with the most basic
of labor, you have an obligation that must be met to the end.
Loyalty: One must be worthy of trust. Without the pillar of loyalty there would be no consequence for
betrayal or adultery.
Reverence: The laws set in place by the Chronicle must be followed. Those that ignore these tenants will be punished severely.
Lineage: Family honor is valued highly in the Drakkan. If you are not of the blood of the dragon, you
are not to step foot on its holy lands.
-Section 3: High Order-
The high order is the newest installment of the Drakkan, coming into existent only a few hundreds years ago. The new order is far more specific than the Chronicle. It draws very high standards and expectations. Most common laws are based on the High Order’s teachings. All common law in the land is taken from section 3 of the Drakkan.
~History~
The Holy Drakkan is a new following in the world only appearing when the Draconic people first made their presence known. Unlike many of the other religions that span Ahrivia the Holy Drakkan's origins are less of a mystery and constructed more in facts of historical record than tales handed down through the ages. The teachings which are written in the Chronicle are the thoughts and words spoken from the first dragons. the ancient dragons in which all other dragons and Dracons can trace their ancestry. Many of the stories which are written in the modern version of the Chronicle are tales that the ancient dragons experienced themselves or gave thought on others they watched. Taking wisdom and strength from what others could teach them and giving their own guidance as to best avoid such misgivings while increasing ones own knowledge.
The Chronicle itself is a major part of the Holy Drakkan, but at its core it is the four Pillars of Existence which most are familiar and follow religiously. The time it would take a single being to read through every passage in the Chronicle, memorize its meaning without fault and act every day according to those would take many more years than any person would have to live. Understanding the limited time in which mortals have the ancient dragons sent out prophets in order deliver their messages on a larger scale. Out of their messages came four the Prophets of Existence: Obligation, Loyalty, Reverence and Lineage, each one focusing heavily on one aspect from the Holy Drakkan in which was thought most important. As time carried on, ideas were changed to better fit the world's shifting views, adding warped appearance to some of the scripture. In time these four Prophets words became known as they Pillars of Existence and are the out laying structure which supports the modern day Holy Drakkan.
The Pillars of Existence were necessary to allow many to follow in the teachings of the Holy Drakkan. While making the ideas easier to understanding, the simple nature cast a shadow over the truest teachings of the Chronicle. It was a necessary evil to keep the ancient dragons ideas passed down through the ages, but one that has caused a divided between those that follow the religion.
To this day the original Chronicle has never been seen by living eyes, nor has its true location ever been known. Many think the Chronicle never existed in a physical form, but came from a dragons thoughts, whispered in the minds of Dracons as they slept. The modern day version of the Chronicle, the truest version, the oldest, is kept within the standing walls of the Nest and guarded heavily by the most devout followers.
