~Aura~
"All is connected, all shall be one again."
Aura is the belief that all things within reality are connected through energy, once a person dies their energy will flow back into a never ending cycle.
~History & Information~
Aura is the oldest standing religion in the known world, it is said that the ancient elfs first came upon the idea that everything in the world is connected to one another. Aura isn't fully a religion but a way of thinking among the Gracelings of the Silent Grove. Given their isolation from the rest of the world Aura hasn't spread beyond the Graceling lands, though few Shroudlings still know and follow the ideas of their forefathers.
It is believed that there are states of energy which mortals find themselves in.
The lowest tier of energy are lower life forms, those which are not sentient, such as bugs, cats, dogs, horses, and birds for an example, while they do contribute to life they posses little energy with their effect on the world.
The second tier are sub-human, or partially sentient creatures such as goblins, orcs, and harpies, these beastmen posses greater energy than mere animals but its unrefined and wild leaving them with much potential but no where to advance.
The third tier are full sentient beings such as humans, gadeni, and elves. These races have reached a level of energy which can effect a world on a mass scale though their energies are still wild and not fully harnessed.
The fourth tier belongs to beings which are on the fringes of true energy, the only mention of such beings would be the Starwalkers of the past, those who are said to have founded the original Aura. In this state beings do not age, nor do they die from it, they are masterful in mind as in body and have abilities which no mortals could achieve.
The last tier belongs to beings of a higher state such as the elements which control all that ever was and will ever be with full control over the energies of the universe.
Most beings are stuck in whatever tier they are born into, never to know what might lay just beyond their comprehension and most are satisfied with such a lifestyle, others however wish to know more, to fully unlock the energy which rests inside them. Mediation is used heavily in Aura to help one think and understand not just themselves but the world around them; people, places, events are all processed and reviewed in ones minds to find understanding within.
It is the duty of the High priest and other clergymen of Aura to bring those which follow in the practice of it to a higher state, to reach a limit which they can truly command the energies of the world. Many practices and rituals can be performed on individuals, not just on their body but on the mind as well. For the most part these rituals are basic, usually dealing with old tales which provide useful insight, while others are more intense for those seeking drastic measures.
For those whose follow Aura during their time in their mortal vessel are said to be rewarded upon death, in which they are elevated to a higher state, becoming the wind which blows through the trees or the waters which flows through rivers, a grand reward for a life time of concentration and pity.
In the end a persons energy is recycled in a never ending process, for a person today could be the very breeze that brushes the cheek of their children.
In other cases, in which a person has not used their full potential with their gifts they may be sent down a tier, their energy changing into a lower tier than before, such claims are rare if heard of at all.
Being a spiritual practice Aura has no gods, as Gracelings believe they are vastly superior than any of the other beings they have come across.
